Strands of hair covered her face

Masking her feeling of inferiority

And her puckered lips pretending

To kiss her thoughts in a higher place

Wide open eyes glimpsed on a man

Whose grimace expressed his discontent

And his small hands trembling

To hold a love that just began

Many steps they took to came close

Until he smiled and gone was she

Another illusion to scrutinise

Before his sanity would take a lethal dose

On his knees he sank and hit the snow

His tears melting their way through

And this warmth composed him

For it was the only he did ever know

His nimble fingers expressed his sincerity

Illusion and obsession do not stray far apart

And nor does love care about those in need

Although it gives life its’ irregularity

Having faith he continued his quest

His heart frozen solid in this bitter cold

Another day passed him quietly by

Four years had it been since he had professed

It had been a week before Valentine’s Day

When he first experienced commitment

A brand new experience dawned upon him

Which made long for more, cost what it may

Invisible to another’s eyes he hunted

For what he did almost blindly desire most

A grasp of warmth and determined passion

Which with he someday may be confronted

When time comes to provide what I'm looking for, I'll write its' counterpart: 'Summer's Heat'
