Can't grow such a wonderful thing on demand
Haven't seen anything like this around this place
Can't twist nature's arm, to let it show it's charm
Eyes, adoring it's beauty, retrace
A rose in the sand

Is it an omen, of a future, so grand?
Can't ever foretell good tidings
Never have been so unsure, though it's so pure
Eyes, ever exploring, exploring it's sightings
A rose in the sand

If it lasts forever, if it will withstand
It's so desolate, so barren habitat
So will my very soul, that's written on this scroll
Eyes, admiring it's energy, spectacular like an acrobat
A rose in the sand

Somewhere in time, this land
Will be overgrown with hopes and dreams
Continuously planting, continuously chanting
Eyes, ever been so loving, it seems

It's image haunting, nobody will understand
The message it carries, tales of rebirth
Promised green lands, at our command
Bringing to us, in reverence and mirth

Yes, bitterness has set in my heart, but I'm not going to give up hope. There are some signs of those "good tidings" coming.
